This was bound to happen is the ninth chapter of Chaos Ignites: Beginning Arc.
Story[]
Kyubey asked Zero about more, including Selena. Zero was a bit upset and told him, that "he should know everything, as he is the one who killed his friend." Kyubey disagrees and tells that she basically killed herself in fear, which makes Zero pick up Kyubey and throw him against a wall. Kyubey then returns a second later and also reveals that he can't die, so it's a waste of time to kill him. Zero then leaves. In the mean time, Jayna overuses her magic because she knows she will die, in hopes of protecting herself, but it just increases the corruption faster. As Jayna breaks out in tears, the corruption reaches it's max - Jayna feels a stinging pain in her chest - the soul gem becomes a grief seed and Aiko has to watch her sister become a witch.
